Viet Nguyen joined Vista Equity Partners in 2020 and is a Senior Managing Director and the Global Head of Strategic Partnerships & Initiatives.

Viet leads Vista’s key strategic partnership efforts internationally, leveraging the power of the firm’s ecosystem and value creation engine to build stronger, more meaningful relationships. His work focuses on expanding Vista’s international reach, network and scale while unlocking new opportunities for growth across the platform.

Prior to Vista, Viet was Managing Director at Riverstone Holdings, a leading energy-focused alternatives asset manager, where he helped lead corporate development initiatives and partnership engagement efforts to support the successful expansion of new investment strategies across private equity, private credit, infrastructure, secondaries and emerging markets through complex private, public and evergreen partnership structures globally. Before Riverstone, Viet was a member of the North American Private Equity Investment team at Advent International and started his career in investment banking at Merrill Lynch in 2006 and Goldman Sachs in 2008.

Viet serves on the Board of STREETS International, a nonprofit organization that provides disadvantaged youth in Vietnam with education, mentorship and career development opportunities in the culinary arts industry. In 2025, Viet was recognized as a NCF Fellow by the U.S.-Mexico Foundation, a nonprofit, non-partisan organization to enhance binational collaboration and cooperation to improve the quality of life and social equity through the support of leaders with extensive business and civic experience in Mexico.
